Jennifer got her start in showbiz by appearing in the chorus of Hinton Battle's

Synchrocincity musical in Japan. She was also in Golden Musicals of Broadway on a

European tour, along with regional productions of Oklahoma and Jesus Christ Superstar.

She got her start in films from her part in the 1987 movie "My Little Girl". Jennifer was in,

and won a competition with about 2,000 contestants to become one of choreographer Rosie

Perez's Fly Girls. Fox's In Living Color was a step in the right direction, she shortly moved

from New York to L.A. While on In Living Color one of her co-worker's husband was

writing and producing South Central for Fox.

Jennifer was seen a few times as the playing Lucy, a woman who worked in a co-op. The

series was shortly after cancelled. Jennifer Lopez was then selected to play Melinda Lopez

on CBS's Second Chances. The series co-starred Connie Selleca and Megan Fallows, it was

so popular that it continued on the Aaron Spelling's Hotel Malibu.

Jennifer soon left television to pursue a career as a film actor. She landed in a role on the

made for TV 1993 movie Nurses on the Line: The Crash of Flight 7 as Rosie a heroic

nurse. In 1995 Jennifer appeared in Gregory Nava's Mi Famillia, which focuses on the lives of

Mexican immigrants from the 1930's through today. Her talent was seen for the first time

for many film makers. After this she starred in the movie "Money Train" next to Woody

Harrelson and Wesley Snipes and in "Jack" next to Robin Williams. But her real

big break was as singer Selena in the same movie. She portrayed the life of the murdered

Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla Perez. After being seen in Selena she had made a place

for herself in Hollywood. During the wrap party for Selena in San Antonio, Jennifer's

boyfriend Ojani Noa proposed to her on the dance floor. The couple was soon married in

1997, but they were soon divorced about a year later.

As much as she likes making movies she even more likes making music and in 1999 she

album. The first single released was "If you had my love" and reached in a lot of

countries the top of the charts.

She has a relationship with Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs. And she has recently finished

her second album "J. Lo", with the hitsingle "My love don't cost a thing".
